SPEECH SOUND AGE MASTERY LEVELS

Children should have the following sounds:

At age 3: /m/, /h/, /w/, /n/, /p/

At age 4: /f/, /b/, /y/, /k/, /g/, /d/

At age 6: /ng/, /r/, /t/

At age 7: /sh/, /ch/, /th/ and /j/

At age 8: /s/,. /v/ and /z/
